STROLLING MAGIC
Being a strolling magician is a unique skill. It’s not just about doing cool tricks. You’ve got to connect with people right there, up close. Strolling magic draws people in, connecting them with each other, making them laugh, and leaving them with a sense of wonder. Unlike stage magicians, close-up magicians aren’t limited by the size of their stage or environment.

Its visual appeal captivates viewers. Bar magic focuses on performing close-up magic in more social venues, such as bars, restaurants, and pubs. It looks like the magic is visual, immediate, and fast. Coins or cards, for example, appear to spectators as they change, disappear, or undergo a shocking transformation. The effects are designed to grab attention immediately, even in busy, noisy environments.
Magic for all ages
The Enchanted Mind: How Magic Transforms Children’s Imagination

Learning basic magic aids in mental stimulation.
Numerous activities have been proven to help people with mental illness and to stimulate the mind, including magic.
Helping fellow veterans
For those who have served, the invisible wounds of PTSD can cast a long shadow. But what if a flicker of their fingers, a misplaced card, or a seemingly impossible vanishing act could offer a brief, yet profound, escape? This is the potent magic we’re exploring: how the simple art of illusion can become a powerful tool for healing, empowering fellow veterans to find moments of surprise, control, and a touch of marvel in their journey toward recovery.
The camaraderie forged in service is a powerful bond, one that often extends far beyond the uniform. Yet, for many veterans grappling with the invisible scars of PTSD, that connection can feel strained or lost. We’re delving into an unconventional yet deeply impactful initiative: teaching fellow veterans the secrets of simple magic. It’s not about grand illusions, but about fostering a sense of agency, sparking curiosity, and creating shared moments of delightful disbelief that can offer a much-needed respite from the everyday struggles of trauma.

I am Ron, a disabled veteran of the US Army.
In my spare time, I help other veterans with things like submitting claims and providing emotional support.
Ron was seventeen years old.
At the age of seventeen, I made the wise decision to join the Army because I believed it would be beneficial to my career. I learned to be more focused and determined while serving in the military, but I was injured in early 1981.
EARLY LIFE
Since my family was constantly on the move, I spent most of my childhood in Western New York. In Buffalo, Hamburg, and Evans, I attended multiple schools.
TV APPEARANCES
Larry King, FOX News, ABC Morning News, and countless others have interviewed me; this is not news to anyone.
MAGIC
The Magician, hosted by Bill Bixby, captivated me when I was a kid; I don’t remember exactly when my interest in magic began, but it was probably when I was a teenager.
MAGIC AND PTSD
Magic helps me unwind, and when I’m doing it, I often forget about my diagnosis and how I can be of service to others.
