We’re delving into an unconventional yet deeply impactful initiative: teaching fellow veterans the secrets of simple magic. It’s not about grand illusions, but about fostering a sense of agency, sparking curiosity, and creating shared moments of delightful disbelief that can offer a much-needed respite from the everyday struggles of trauma.

I am Ron, a disabled veteran of the US Army.
In my spare time, I help other veterans with things like submitting claims and providing emotional support.
Ron was seventeen years old.
At the age of seventeen, I made the wise decision to join the Army because I believed it would be beneficial to my career. I learned to be more focused and determined while serving in the military, but I was injured in early 1981.
EARLY LIFE
Since my family was constantly on the move, I spent most of my childhood in Western New York. In Buffalo, Hamburg, and Evans, I attended multiple schools.

MAGIC
The Magician, hosted by Bill Bixby, captivated me when I was a kid; I don’t remember exactly when my interest in magic began, but it was probably when I was a teenager.

Magic helps me unwind, and when I’m doing it, I often forget about my diagnosis and how I can be of service to others.
